cry baby

because i work on contract at the guggenheim i have no healthcare. because i made no money last year i qualify for this total lo-budget healthcare (which to you lucky canadians out there means $204 / month!) anyways, i called the people there today to find out about some test results and they told me my policy had been cancelled because i haven't paid them.

"but i never got a bill!" i said. "well we sent you one" they said. "yeah, but i never got it, so how was i to know? and even so, i would only have been one month late on my payment!" i said. "it's your responsibility to contact us for you bill- you know your care isn't free" they said. "but, but, but... waaaaaahhhhhh" i said.

they were sooooo mean to me. it was unbelievable. i asked to speak to the manager and then i got yelled at by the manager too. all because they didn't send me my bill. it was awful. i hung up the phone and cried. cried because it's indicative of sooo many things. like the fact that my salary is shit and i get no benefits. or the fact that people hate their lives and jobs so much that they enjoy making people cry on the phone. or that the most powerful country in the world can't provide the most basic services for it's citizens (or resident aliens in this case.)

i'm sorry canada. sorry for taking your hopelessly flawed, but so much better than this shit, health care for granted.

i wanna come home.
